Risograph Duplicators - Just like screen printing

Risograph Duplicators – WOW...They look like photocopiers but the internal process is more like screen printing. Yep, instead of using heat to bond carbon toner to paper, the Risograph perforates a plastic film with tiny dots that correspond to your image, as soy based ink is pressed through this master sheet onto paper as it passes beneath the colour drum. Only one colour can be printed on each pass through the machine and every time you want to print a new colour you need to switch the drum. ...........I want one.

Pick Me Up

Some amazing prints at Pick Me Up art fair....My favourites are Mr Bingo, James Joyce, Claire Scully and Mathis Rekowski. Came out very inspired and full of ideas.

Rob Ryan at Pick Me Up

The Pick Me Up exhibition at Somerset House was a Saturday well spent... Every single print was fabulous from start to finish. I got to meet Rob Ryan who had his studio set up in the exhibition, was amazing to see his set up and his team intricately cutting away at his designs. That was like the invisible wish you get.... where if you were granted invisibility for the day what would you do... I got to do just that and walk round his studio, listen in to their work chat (what time was lunch) watch Rob draw; watch his assistants cut and some other people on Macs.... Was even more grateful for the advice Rob gave. I’ve just signed up for a workshop with the Print Club and did a few more sketches. which i'll make some proofs up of next week..... Oh and I finally found a printers based in Manchester....
